2009 EVVY Award Winners!

IWS is pleased to announce that two of the authors we served in 2008 have won recognition by the Colorado Independent Publishers' Association (CIPA) at their 2009 EVVY Awards celebration. One of this year's winners is Eric Jensen for his new book titled Forever and A Day that took 1st Place in the History category and 2nd Place in the Memoirs category.

A second winner at the EVVY Awards was "But I Don't Want Eldercare!" written by Terry Lynch and published by The Legal Center for People with Disabilities and Older People. The book received 2nd place in the Diet/Health/Fitness category and 3rd place in the Parenting/Family category.

Editing, Permissions Acquisition, and Consulting Services

Integrated Writer Services, LLC (IWS) provides professional manuscript assessment, editing, permissions acquisitions, and consulting services for writers of both fiction and nonfiction works. We help both unpublished writers and seasoned authors polish their manuscripts prior to submitting their work to publishers. We also can provide special assistance and consulting services to authors who intend to self-publish their works. And, we are happy to receive referrals from small presses, independent publishers, traditional publishers, and print-on-demand (POD) publishers.

Editing Services

IWS provides the following four types of manuscript editing services:

• Copyediting or light editing
• Line Editing that includes some structural elements
• Content Editing, also called substantive editing or heavy copyediting
• Developmental Editing that includes changes at the paragraph, chapter, and book levels

Additional Support Services

IWS also provides the following support services:

• Copywriting to create cover copy that will make a positive first impression on the sales rack
• Ghostwriting on selected topics
• Permissions Review to determine what items in a manuscript require rights clearance
• Permissions Acquisition that includes research to locate the owner and administrator of rights to a copyrighted item and to identify possible alternatives if rights cannot be obtained for the initial item
• Consultation through layout and print production
